About The Program

Innovation Factory is a program allowing researchers and novel entrepreneurs in Lebanon to develop their innovation in any technology-based sector into commercially viable products and applications. The program, based on technology transfer, gives participants international exposure with access to local and global markets, B2B networks, and a pool of seasoned experts, mentors, and investors.

It is funded by the European Union under THE NEXT SOCIETY project and is organized in Lebanon by Berytech and ANIMA, and in Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia by THE NEXT SOCIETY national partners under the Tech Booster program.

Technology Transfer

Technology transfer is the process of transferring technology, in addition to skills, knowledge and manufacturing methods, from an enterprise or university to a wide range of users, while creating economic value and developing the respective industry.

Improving the process of technology transfer in Lebanon will foster innovation in tackling economic, environmental and social challenges, creating job opportunities and empowering both academics and young entrepreneurs towards creative problem-solving.

From Research to Market

Most university discoveries never leave the lab, even though they can be transformed into growing startups or commercialized within international companies. In fact, these discoveries can be turned into products and solutions that improve the quality of life, help businesses grow or even disrupt entire industries.

The Innovation Factory program is open to researchers, postgraduates, innovators, engineers and technicians who want to turn their research project, discovery or technology into a successful business.

THE NEXT SOCIETY Movement

Berytech is the official partner of THE NEXT SOCIETY in Lebanon, whose goal is to help shape the future of the Mediterranean by mobilizing entrepreneurs, innovators and corporate ecosystems to tackle the innovation and sustainable development challenges faced in the region. The Next Society gathers a large network of over 300 business and innovation, research and investment organizations, 2,500 international SMEs and entrepreneurs from 30 countries.

THE NEXT SOCIETY launched a four-year action plan (2017-2020), co-funded by the EU with up to 90% for a global amount of EUR 7.8 million budget, with a part dedicated to achieving its objectives in Lebanon through its partnership with Berytech. Learn more here.
