About the Project

The European Union launched the European Union for Women Empowerment (EU4WE) project in October 2019. The aim of the project is to promote full and unconditional equality between men and women in Lebanon.

The specific objectives are to reduce gender-based violence through women empowerment and to enhance existing institutional mechanisms working towards gender equality.

EU4WE is funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France.

Part of the EU4WE Project efforts in Lebanon, Berytech will launch a support program targeted at women-led and/or women-owned businesses affected by the Beirut Blast on August 4, 2020. The program will consist of identifying the MSMEs that could benefit from a grant to sustain their activities.

It is a 6-months program during which beneficiaries will be identified, their needs assessed, the use of the funds determined, and the grant disbursed. Beneficiaries will receive training on crisis management to help them navigate the current situation.
