Engaging youth in agrifood innovation for sustainable food security

The Agrination program aims to thoroughly assess the needs of startups in the agrifood sector to offer tailored mentorship and incubation opportunities for optimal impact on food security, job creation and sustainability.

About the program

Creating the right environment for emerging entrepreneurs in the agrifood sector

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched the Agrination Program in partnership with Berytech, to cultivate fertile grounds for aspiring entrepreneurs in agrifood to thrive and succeed. In developing this regional challenge for change, the program addresses pressing issues such as high unemployment rates and limited female labor force participation, with a specific focus on the Northeast and North Africa (NENA) region. In the face of water scarcity and growing threats of global warming and climate change, Agrination emphasizes entrepreneurship and innovation as key drivers for job creation and long-term food security across the region.
