Lamp Shade – Design & Production

This project shows the various steps followed to design and produce lamp shade at the fab lab, using Laser Cutting technology. Design was done on Fusion 360. The lamp shade parts are designed in a slip-in manner, where they can easily assemble without the help of mechanical components or glue. Parts were then produced on a Laser Cutter using a piece of  6mm thick MDF, assembled, and then screwed on a lamp shade holder light bulb .

Cutting Board Router Templates – Design & Production

This project shows the various steps followed to design and produce router template for cutting boards at the fab lab, using Laser Cutting technology. Design was done on Fusion 360 and then vectors were exported for cutting in .DXF format. Parts were then produced on a Laser Cutter using a piece of  6mm thick Clear Acrylic. The templates were then used to produce wooden cutting boards using some wood working tools and a hand router fixed on a routing table.

“Mauj”, The Parametric Bench – CNC Milling Project

“Mauj” is a Parametric Bench designed and produced at the fab lab.  The design was born from the idea of making a three-dimensional parametric bench completely from flat plywood parts. Design was done using Fusion 360 and CNC milled using 18 mm Birch Plywood Board Material on a CNC Milling Machine. Parts locks together with no glue by the help of threaded rods and nuts that are hidden inside the wooden parts.
